Pandemics and Politics.
Both have seized the day.
Masks and Mandates.
Both have paved the way for
a lack of education,
a certain mind castration.
A funeral held in vanity.
Mindless of our sanity.
Humanity lies.

Perishing in the streets. Fettered
to fear, to drugs, to suicide.
Aside from Covid deaths,
how many more have died?
Shielding the facts,
misrepresenting science.
On the government alone,
are we to pledge reliance?
Or may we express defiance?

No expressions, no impressions.
Simply nothing more.
Oh, to see the light again-
to taste, to touch, to smell.
Not to see the fright again-
not to be a shell
of what we were-
of normalcy,
of elderly and infancy.

Orwellian, draconian.
Dam the mass decrees that
brought us to our knees.
A not-so-distant memory
of words that ruled the world-
Vaccine-19.
Those chilling words
dividing herds
into immunity, into eternity.
