Hot and sultry afternoon
i float upon your sandy dune
taste salt spittle on my tongue
watch violet seashells drowse among
your peanut brittle shores.
Cashmere sandcrabs hide and peep
tunnel to the silken deep
where hoary crests graze your lawn
show you where the crease is drawn
let slumber fold your doors.
The pearly gull to race the tide
will brave the swells on wings that glide
to light atop the frothy flows
feel your breath between its toes
frolic on crescendo’s roars.
