Liam

Liam

On the wings of a dove
was the babe ferried down,
cherished gift from above
on the tiniest sound.

Deepest blue eyes,
silky, cinnamon hair,
Lilliputian cries,
downy skin laid bare.

Early, so early, he came
proclaiming his woes,
his diminutive frame
to the world he disclosed.

No words may express
the love which beholds
a God-authored babe
as his beauty unfolds.

From fragile newborn,
he will surely become
Uilliam James,
the unwavering one.

  1. This poem is deeply personal so it means a lot to me, knowing it’s dedicated to my precious son. I’m ever in awe of the way you write. (The word “Lilliputian” drew a smile from my face as it accurately describes “Ulliam James’s” frame.) I do hope he does justice to the name as he grows up into an unwavering boy and, one day, enters manhood.
