Silver Lining

While sorrows mount
and trials reign,
a silver lining
yet remains.

Where tears are shed
in sad refrain,
a ray of hope
will puncture pain.

A peaceful mask
adorns the face,
a man too young
to meet God’s grace.

With casket closed
and death still lain,
lips of love
caress the stain.

Woeful mourner,
clothed in grief,
clasps a lifeline
of belief.

What tale of loss
would be complete
until it’s laid
at Jesus’ feet.

When Christ returns,
the grave arraigned,
a silver lining
will sustain.
