Blind as a Bat (young poets)

O say, can you see,
by the dawn’s early light?
Yes, we can! And what’s more-
we can see when it’s night!

For bats are not blind,
as it’s said that we are!
We can see close,
and we can see far!

We eat all your bugs,
and when they are gone,
we hang upside down
and we sleep with the dawn.

So, you see, we are useful-
not clumsy at all!
And we rarely, if ever,
crash into a wall!

So, please do not give us
such a bad name!
It makes us unhappy.
It brings us such shame!
